An African Safari
Have you ever visited the zoo and wished that you could see all of those beautiful animals living, eating, and running free in their own environment? Have you ever wished that you could get as up close and personal as safely possible with these wild animals that are dwelling behind locked cages?
For those of you whose idea of the perfect vacation would be spent riding along bumpy roads, driving through bushes, or being covered by sand in search of wild animals, an African safari would be the destination for you.
For example, the great migration from Serengeti and Masai Mara to witness the wildebeest migration from Northern Tanzania to southern Kenya might be something you would be interested in experiencing.
Your adventure begins when you arrive in Kilimanjaro. You are picked up and transported to the Mountain Village, your lodging for the night. You will be able to relax from your long flight before actually starting your safari.
Your safari begins the following day in Lake Manyara where you will have the opportunity to view huge flocks of pink flamingoes, giraffes, baboons, hippos, and elephants. Your lodging at this stop will be the Ngorongoro Serena/Ngorongoro Sopa where your welcome reception and dinner will be held.
Your next stop will be at the Olduvai Gorge, where archaeologists Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the fossilized remains of the earliest known man, an estimated 1.8 million years old. Serengeti Serena/Ngorongo Sopa will be your lodging for the night. You will then spend two days in Serengeti, which is probably the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world. Here you will see hundreds of thousands of wildebeests migrating. Your lodging during this stop will be the Serengeti Serena/Ngorongo Sopa.
Then, you will spend four days in Masai Mara following the herds of wildebeests, watching them interact with each other in their natural habitats. You will see different species and their habitats along the way. During this four day stay you will also have the opportunity to climb aboard a hot air balloon and view these magnificent beasts from the air. Mara Intrepids Camp will be your lodging during this time.
The last leg of your journey will include a hearty breakfast before you drive across the savannah for one last excursion. You will stop for a picnic lunch before joining your safari guides for your farewell dinner, and then begin your journey back home.
